15TH HEALING MISSION IN UGANDA 2024 I am grateful to report on the 15th Healing Mission in 2024. This Healing mission started in 2007 and is now in its 15th year. This time, 22 co-workers from Gwangju3 UBF from Korea and four members from 1 family from Gwanak3 UBF. Shepherds Joshua Park from Brazil UBF and Paul Choi from Russia UBF were also present. From Uganda, missionaries Livingston Kang, Grace Kang, and Isaac Song attended. It was held from February 12th to the 16th. The key verse of the healing Mission is Mark 6:34–37a. [34] When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So, he began teaching them many things. [37a] But he answered, “You give them something to eat.” I am thankful that God has blessed this Healing Mission. The Korean team arrived at Entebbe Airport on February 9 and began their schedule. At the hotel, the teams unpacked their luggage. We had a worship service with the Healing Mission team at Makerere UBF. The healing team had a special song ready on the CCD. After the service, we had a local meal and fellowship with Makerere UBF co-workers in Uganda, and then we left for BUJUKO, our ministry location. BUJUKO was served by missionary Kim Sun-jong, a Korean missionary. She was a single female missionary who had planted three churches in the area and was serving her missionary work. This time, the entire schedule was hosted by her. We are also grateful to missionary Sunjong Kim. BUJUKO was about an hour away from the capital, Kampala. We stayed in downtown Bujuko and met patients at Missionary Sunjong Kim's church. Although the surgical team did not join this time, the dental team did a great job. Shepherd Abraham Seo from Korea, Shepherd Paul Choi, a second-generation missionary from Russia, and Shepherd Joshua Park, also a second-generation missionary from Brazil, all participated as dentists. For two days, Monday and Tuesday, we met with patients at the second church where Missionary Kim served. For two days, Wednesday and Thursday, we also treated patients at the first church, where Missionary Kim served. Our motto is "We treat, God heals.". Although our ministry seemed insignificant and the only thing we could do was give medicine, we were thankful and believed that God would heal them. Our young generation served CCD and Creation Pantomime. With this, we were able to preach the gospel to these people, even though our languages were different. Medical, cultural, and gospel ministries were carried out together for four days, and in particular, Shepherd Stephen Kang's family from Gwanak3 UBF played a great role. Shepherd Stephen taught the patients how to brush their teeth diligently and also taught them the word of God. His daughter, Inae, was an elementary school student and demonstrated Taekwondo, which she had learned in Korea. His wife was a nurse who checked the vitals of patients, helped with treatment, and was in charge of meals for the healing team. His son, Moses, actively played with local children and contributed to cultural ministry. Shepherd Mark Gu of Gwangju3 UBF participated in the Healing Mission on behalf of Shepherd David Park. He became a staff shepherd, following Shepherd David Park, and for this Healing mission, he prepared the gracious Word of God every morning and shared it with the team. And he offered a little sincerity by praying for the patients who came to visit us for treatment. During this Healing Mission period, a total of 978 patients were treated over four days, and 89 patients were tested for malaria, with 19 positive patients, 6 for a Urine test, and 2 for a Glucose test. At the dental clinic, three dentists treated about 110 patients over four days. Although the treatment was mainly focused on tooth extraction, nerve treatment was also useful. in particular, the front teeth of a young student were filled, and the student's bright smile was restored. On the last Friday at BUJUKO, we visited the homes of local church members. We each worked in pairs and visited the homes of local church members with gifts. We were able to confirm that we were united in love in the Lord by sharing the sermons we each prepared, praying, and sharing meals prepared by local families. We had a gracious time to learn about God's delicate guidance and the missionaries' obedience to faith through the testimonies of Missionary Sunjong Kim, Missionary Luke Lim, and Missionary Isaac Song. The healing team toured the Makerere Campus on Saturday, prayed, and looked around the land purchased in Bwebajja through Gwangju 3 UBF on the way back to the airport. We spent time praying and believing that in the future, our second generation will use this land according to God's will. I believe and am thankful that God has blessed us through this healing mission and that He alone has been glorified. We were very worried because we did not have a surgical team this time, and there was heavy rain during camp, although it was a dry season. But God enriched our healing ministry through the dental team. In addition, I am grateful to God for His grace through all other ministries. We pray that God will continue to bless our ministry and use it to reveal His gospel and His love. Thank you Isaac Song
